This leadership session will focus on the concept of vision in Jewish education. Through the lens of Philip Roth’s story - The Conversion of the Jews” we will unpack two diametrically opposed visions for Jewish education in an afternoon school setting. We will then introduce the concepts of an institutional and existential vision and participants will have the opportunity to form their own visions of Jewish education in their settings.
Seymour Kopelowitz has a Ph.D. in educational leadership and an M.B.A. He is a graduate of the Jerusalem Fellows program, and holds a superintendent’s license from the Ohio Department of Education.
